Asahi Pentax Stereo Lens Adapter + Viewer II

The Asahi Pentax Stereo Viewer II is a vintage, handheld optical device designed specifically to view 3D, side-by-side images produced by the Asahi Pentax Stereo Adapter. It works by presenting two separate, slightly different images to each eye, allowing the brain to merge them into a single 3D image with enhanced depth. The viewer works in conjunction with the adapter, which uses a series of mirrors to divide a 35mm frame into left and right images. The viewer provides the necessary optical separation and magnification to see these images in 3D

Design: A compact, handheld viewer, usually made of durable, high-quality plastic.
Optics: Contains multiple lenses that focus the stereo image.
Compatibility (52mm or 49mm, typically for 50mm/55mm lenses).

Stitz SA-1 Stereo Lens Adapter Japan

Overview  The SA-1 is a beam-splitting device that mounts to the front of a standard camera lens. It uses internal mirrors or prisms to divide the 35mm film frame into two vertical "half-frame" images—one for the left eye and one for the right. It is highly regarded by collectors and vintage photography enthusiasts for its ability to produce 3D effects without requiring a specialized stereo camera.

For the Stitz SA-1 stereo adapter, you typically need a standard prime lens with a focal length of at least 55mm to 60mm on a 35mm SLR or full-frame camera. Using a focal length shorter than 55mm often results in vignetting (darkening of the corners), as the internal mirrors of the beam splitter will begin to appear in the frame.

Made in Japan by the Itzuki Instrument Company
Estimated Era: Produced between 1950 and 1960.
Focal Lengths: 55mm to 60mm for a standard "natural" perspective.
Telephoto: It can be used with longer focal lengths, reportedly up to 300mm
It is generally recommended to use apertures between f/5.6 and f/8.
Small apertures (higher f-numbers) help keep the vertical center partition line sharp
Manual Focus: Since the adapter sits in front of your glass, you must use manual focus.
Portrait Orientation
Distance: 1.5 to 4 meters from your subject
